Hi Matt, After a couple of weeks on the DX I'm approaching a couple of hundred K myself and have observed a couple of things: - I still have a bit of a challenge motivation-wise to use an Erg on a daily basis but it is easier to get into the mood with the DX than with my old C2, and once I'm on it an hour goes by a lot easier motivationally. This is due to the ability to focus not only on numbers but also on form. - It is clearly kinder on the lower back arthritis, and having a relatively new total hip on one side I feel more confident getting full reach and using full leg strength without risk, so I agree with your observations w/r/t superiority over the Static. Now to work on conditioning a bit......... Best regards, Stu

OK, Matt - Here are my thoughts so far ........... : The DX is everything I had hoped it would be; I had no way to check one out locally, so I went with the gut on this. I was impressed with the testimonials online, as well as the apparent build quality and the documentation on your website. I put in 9k today after shifting the rower out to the garage, the move surprisingly easy after putting it together inside the house 3 steps up from the garage. The machine is really maneuverable using the casters. Without doubt, the smoothest rower I've used, including the newer RP3T (which our local rowing club uses). I was impressed at how easy it was to maintain what passes for proper smooth form ..... for me, at least ..... at really low stroke rates ( I find that I feel more connected on the C2 static if I row at a higher cadence). By "low" I mean 20 - 24 s/m, higher 28 - 34 or more. My bony old arse really appreciated the softer seat! Great product, great customer service ......... keep it up!
Sorry, no reviews match your current selections
love it
Matt,
It was a pleasure speaking with you on the phone. I appreciate the time you took answering my questions. We look forward to receiving our Oartec to get rowing as part of our home fitness program.
Best,
Kathleen
Hi Matt,
Got the DX all set up and a first row in. Thanks very much; looking forward to many km’s to come.
Regards,
John
this is the best rowing machine out there. I am a longtime Concept2 user and they’re still an awesome company, but the Oartec DX is king

Good day, Matt.
I’ve never felt comfortable on a C2 D Model, or any model for that matter. The abrupt difference between that equipment and sculling was vast, in my opinion. This morning was my first time on the DX. Whole other animal and so much closer to the sculling experience. I am thrilled with the purchase.
Rather than dread my indoor sessions, I will now look forward to each time on the DX. Well done and thank you.

I have had the Oartec for six months now and I absolutely love it. I considered the Concept 2 and the Rowperfect but didn’t choose the former because of the research on how bad static machines are for your body and the latter is a great machine but they can be temperamental and are too expensive. I describe the Oartec to people by saying it is a Rowperfect with even better quality build than the Concept 2. I have rowed for 30 years and wanted a machine that would complement my sculling. It gives me the chance to do some rowing when I don’t want to sacrifice time with my family to get to the river. I keep it in my garage and for the money I spent I can see this being a great investment in my health for many years to come. I have spoken several times to the owner of Oartec (Matt) and he as been super responsive to questions and requests for Firmware updates on the software so I can gather as much data as possible on my training. Given how much better quality this is than the opposition and how much better dynamic ergos are for your back I think the extra money is an absolute no brainer. I would encourage anyone considering buying an ergo to think very carefully about how many years they are investing in and how much more enjoyable it is to row on a dynamic machine.
Great rowing machine. Easy to assemble, excellent quality. Our first rower we have bought for home. Very satisfied
